Champaign is a nice-looking town. Lots of well-kept old buildings.

Reminds me a little of the look of Ann Arbor, not a small town, but a small town look.
And they still have a bit of snow that far south!

Hey! What were you doing down here?

And yes...you're seeing a revitalized downtown Champaign, actually. When we moved here 7.5 years ago, those old buildings were mostly empty, but now they're full of shops and restaurants and actually quite busy. We like our downtown.

Sadly, downtown Urbana, though, is another story--it's been a ghost town ever since the Bergner's in Lincoln Square Mall closed.

We were visiting my daughter and her fiance. They both work at UofI. He's doing post-doc microbiology work. She's in the office of the College of Engineering.

That recently, huh? I'm impressed.

Oh, that's right! I'd forgotten about that. Technically, NCSA is a unit in the College of Engineering (it's never very explicit, though.) Hope you had a good visit. Saturday was definitely nice.
