What a horrible excuse for a blizzard. They predicted 9 to 12 inches of snow, and talked like it was going to be the storm of the century. Then yesterday, they downgraded it a bit. And then we hardly got anything.

It was supposed to start snowing early last night, and keep snowing through tonight. It started early yesterday, and slacked off by evening. It's been above freezing since noon yesterday so the snow was very wet. The wind was in the twenties all day, so that was bad. Overnight, it's probably rained as much as it has snowed. It looks like there might be another three inches of slush out there now. So that's maybe six inches of snow?

Oh, and it's supposed to get down to zero tonight, so all that slush will turn to ice.

EDIT:
It was only close to the lake that we got all the rain and little snow. Inland got upwards of twelve inches, as predicted. It did come earlier than forecast, though.

I haven't checked the total in SW Wisconsin. We did get about 5 inches before I'd gone to bed, and it is going to be difficult getting out of the house before things are shoveled. The rain in the Milw. area totally sucks.

We can send you some of the 14 plus inches we woke up to this morning if you want. :) Still snowing outside and now the wind is kicking in.

You'd think with all the practice they get with cold weather and snow, they'd get the forecast right.
;)
Be careful with all the ice. That's the worst part.

On top of all this slush? No thanks!

It was pretty slippery on the way home late last night, with the slush being compacted. I was down to 20 mph sometimes.

As it turns out, they got around the twelve inches predicted, inland. It was only here near the lake that we got the slush and rain.

lol.. i'm pretty used to that out here. They said we'd get snow flurries all night the other night. It snowed for an hour during the day, then rained just enough to melt all the snow, and nothing since. :)

I'm sure some day they'll do a little better than just guessing at the weather.

I'm used to cutting their predictions by half - this wasn't even half. But it turns out they were pretty good with their forecast. It's just here along the lakeshore that it was so warm that we got rain instead of snow. Less then ten miles west of here got the predicted foot of snow.

Menomonee Falls got 9".
And I see it's only 3 this morning.
Sheesh.
