Here's me forcing a smile:

The back of my head is cold.

It looks fine in front. It doesn't actually look much different, especially when I wore in a pony tail. The back is way too short. I'm gonna have to see if I can grow it out a little.

That Oprah "Great American Haircut" really took hold!

if you shave, nobody will recognize you!

I like it.

Yeah, it's really short in the back, but the barber/stylist probably thought you aren't the kind of guy who wants to come back too often, and gave you a cut to last a while. You know they say that your hair grows faster once you cut it, so it'll probably grow back there before the December winds hit hard.

So was this a happy job for the person who gave you the new do?

I thought of that. I pictured walking into the office with a shaven head, a shaven face and contacts, to see who would recognize me.

She didn't talk much. I gave her a nice tip, though. The girl at the next station seemed pretty excited, but I think she sounds like that all the time.

I suspect that if I went for a makeover, they'd take my beard. Or most of it, anyway.

nah, it looks good that short. You look hot Mr. Kev :)

I feel cold. ;-)

Yeah. The one dude of the hundred people that agreed to it was a "Grizzly Adams" type and they gave him a kind of USMC treatment... hardly a "makeover" as much as just buzzcut.

The real question is how do you like it?

put a togue on ;)

I have mixed feelings. I liked the long hair, but it was past looking good long. The front looks decent but I don't like the back because it's very short. And it's cold back there.

A couple of people have suggested hoodie sweatshirts.

I like it and it will grow longer on your neck quickly. Manolo always lets his hair grow below his collar for the winter.
:D

It definitely takes some getting used to!

Turtlenecks maybe, until it's long enough again?

uh...wow. What a difference.

what you need is a balaclava (http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.snogear.com/images/miscellaneous/balaclava.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.snogear.com/balaclava.htm&h=390&w=317&sz=68&hl=en&start=1&um=1&tbnid=vYcs_GGA63YajM:&tbnh=123&tbnw=100&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbalaclava%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN)

if you're planning to take up a rap or drug selling career, a hoodie these days would be a fine choice ;)

A nice tweed cap?

It looks very, very nice! Now on to the purchase of some fun hats?

*gasp*

The back IS way too short!! But you do look very nice. Chilly, but nice.

Sorta shocked me, there. *giggle*

I happened upon the show just as he stepped out and he was pretty good looking...AFTER all the hair was cut. He looked pretty bad before, in my opinion.

I'm the female version of him right now-- hair just lank and hanging down my back all flat and...yeah. I haven't had it cut or trimmed since December. Or maybe it was last October, I can't remember. I'm a hippie freak! aaahhhh!!

You won't believe how fast your hair will grow. It looks great!

Now I'm going to have to start paying for haircuts regularly. :-(

;-)

I have a few fun hats, but none of them are very warm.

Whoa! What a change! I like it both ways on you- and I understand the cold head feeling... my hair is long now but I've had it so short it's been shaved in the back- and while I loved having that done, it was downright cold that short!

:)

Back in 2000, I got my hair buzzed and shaved off my beard. Prior to this I'd had a beard and long-ish hair for about 8 or 9 years.

Anyway, I did the buzz and shave the day of the company "christmas" party (in february). I went with a friend of mine - she's worked for the company (at that point) for like 6 years, I'd worked for WIND for nearly 10. Anyway, folks we'd both been working with even for over 5 years, didn't recognize me, and kept coming over to see "who's Lisa's Date?" lol!
