They call it the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. But you probably knew that.

That was by the side of the road. There's a road that runs all the way up the west rim of the canyon, and there are overlooks.

I think that's a picnic area. I can't imagine how much a cottage there would cost to rent!

Our cottage was just about as far away from here as you could possibly get, on the island, by car. But if you drive another few miles up the hill, then hike another four miles, you could look down on the valley where we were staying.

The weather here cleared up when we got home. There was a little snow in the air was we taxied off the runway, but the sun was out by the time we got home.

It's more like water tumbling over rocks. This is on the drier side of the island, but there is still water coming down from the top. You can only see a couple of the waterfalls in this picture, but there are a few there. Some big.

It only shows part of your whole panorama... not sure why. It goes from the waterfall over to a dip in one of the ridges... but oh it's so pretty!
