I forgot to mention the "yeah, right" action scenes in the movie. Be warned if those sorts of things bother you much.

You know the kind I'm talking about. Like where four Hobbits can outrun a horse.

But the fight choreography was good. You just have to accept that these people are all superhuman warriors. ;-)

Yeah right

Yeah...a hobbit leaning forward just enough to tip a huge crumbling stone wall forward at just the right angle to connect with the other part of the crumbling wall, so they can all run off safe and sound before the whole thing falls into the abyss.

leave it alone.

both of you need to learn to suspend disbelief and just enjoy the magic. if you want realism, don't go to a fantasy movie.

:-D

I did enjoy the magic. But there were just a few scenes that transcended magic. I mean, it has to be plausible in the context of the fantasy world.

Like that thing with the crumbling stone stairway. What the heck was that all about? Wasn't getting chased across the bridge suspenseful enough? Why did they have to create this whole scene to keep the movie exciting? Did they really think we getting bored? That particular scene was one of the few parts of the whole movie that I really disliked.

And I'm really not sure why you think I was so hard on it.

I am a purist, and I was happy with the treatment. What they left out was unnecessary, and what they added was necessary. For the most part.

And for the record, I get enjoyment not only out of the movie itself, but also of analyzing it. There was very much in that movie to appreciate, and I like to appreciate as much as I can.
