I cleaned appliances

I cleaned the inside and outside of the microwave and refrigerator (and the outside of the toaster). The microwave wasn't bad, but the fridge was gross. We bought it in 2021, and this was only the second time I cleaned it. The problem is that we keep a bowl in there for compost, rather than walking a handful of stuff to the other side of the yard every time you cut up vegetables. And we're not careful enough to get all the shreds into the bowl without either dropping it, or just swiping it across the wall next to it or the shelf above it. The bottom of the fridge also collects all the twist-ties and bag clips that come loose from the produce bags from the store.

It took me an hour. I had to pull a couple of the glass shelves out. We don't seem to have a whole lot of food in there, so it wasn't too tough to empty it all out. It seems strange not to have much food. We don't accumulate much in the way of staples. The top shelf has ketchup, mustard, salad dressing, soy sauce, maple syrup (1 of each) and then some beer and soda (nobody drinks it it's all been there a year or a year and a half). So half the top shelf is empty. The doors are full, though - all the tall things. The middle shelf has bread, eggs, a couple of yogurts, and extra milk, a bowl of leftovers, and a couple odd things stored in the back - Crisco and yeast. Bottom shelf had even less, and the drawers had a few veggies. I feel like we should have a smaller refrigerator. But I also feel like a smaller one would be cheap, and not good enough for us. Weird.

I do want a new one, though. I want one with a handle on the front. And where the meat drawer doesn't keep trying to fall out. And with shelves that are more adjustable. This one was kinda cheap. I didn't like it at the time, but it was the only one we didn't have to wait several months for. I said at the time that we could get this one and upgrade later, and now Cindy looks at me like I'm crazy.
