feels like summer
Oct. 20th, 2024 10:57 pmbut the leaves are all turning! Temps were in the upper 70's today, so we drove to the woods and took a walk. It was so nice. We took the Butler Lake loop in the North Kettle Moraine. It was 3.2 miles. I had my back pack and water bottle (which was just about all that was in it) but then I figured I could get by without water for just a three-mile walk. And indeed, nobody else we saw had any water along. But it was warm, and three miles appears to be just a bit longer than I'd like to go without water. So it ended up being a little rough. But it was still nice.

The we drove the Scenic Drive through the parkland, which was also nice. Then over to Sheboygan for dinner at an Indian/Nepalese place called The Spices. It's a local chain. After that we had to stop at 3 Sheeps brewery, since we were in the area, and apparently we got there two minutes before last call (they close at 6pm on Sundays), so that worked out well.
Tonight I went out after dark to see the comet again, but is so dim now I can hardly see it with my camera.
Saturday I had to help my sister move some heavy things for my mom. And took care of some CoPA and SAS business.
Friday I took the day off work since it was so nice. I walked Wisconsin Avenue with my camera again. We'll see if this adds to the story. Also visited the Art Museum, since I was right there.
It's supposed to stay warm for a couple of days, then highs will dip below 60° for a while. No frost in the forecast, but we did have frost one morning last week.
