firewood stacked
Aug. 6th, 2022 09:23 pmI finally got all the firewood stacked, about a week and a half after we split it. Good thing, since the grass underneath was dying. And I'm glad I got it off the neighbor's grass in only a few days. I had to cut some pieces that were split, because they were too long. Some I did with my chop saw, some were too big for it, so I had to use my chainsaw. That was a pain. I also cut up all the scrap wood, which I will use for kindling. I still don't have a place to put it, which is why it was out there in the first place. Actually, I put it under the plywood cover for the firewood, which means I have to split it and use it before I use the firewood that it is on top of.
So that was a lot of work. I'm beat, and I don't feel like I actually worked that hard, compared to what I did when we split it all. It was pretty hot this morning, though. It cooled a bit, to the mid 70's after noon. I got it done by dinner time, and then mowed the lawn in the evening. It was quite pleasant out by then. Too bad I had to ruin the evening by mowing.
