flood, day... whatever
Oct. 9th, 2019 07:46 pmNothing too serious going on now.
They originally said they'd pick up the fans and dehumidifiers on Tuesday, but they never called. I got a call this morning. The guy said he'd come out and check on things. He found two places where the walls were still damp. He recommended I drill holes in the drywall, and he left two fans. There is solid-foam insulation behind, so the holes don't open into airspace, but I drilled them anyway, since maybe some exposed drywall (instead of sealed behind paint) will help things dry.
I swept then blew rust off the driveway. The dumpster left quite a bit behind.
We still have disassembled artwork in the living room. And photo equipment. I have no idea where to put it.
Most sorry losses:
Record albums: Buckingham Nicks, REM "Nightswimming" UK picture disc, Violent Femmes record day release Happy New Year" EP, and a couple of Peter Gabriel 12" singles. The records were fine, but the sleeves were damaged. Was very glad to have no damage to the old Jethro Tull albums.
Comic Books: The Maxx, Xenozoic Tales and a Kabuki set I liked a lot. And the early Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - probably the only ones worth any money.
