I had an appointment for a physical today. They always tell us to arrive early. They told me fifteen minutes early. Sometimes the say the reason is to fill out paperwork. But the earlier I get there, the longer I have to sit in the waiting room. So I got there seven minutes early. Better than usual, I must admit.

My assumption is that if I have a 10:00 appointment, I need to arrive early enough that I can check in, and be ready when (if) they call me at 10:00.

So the nurse calls my name right away, and we go back to the examination room. She does the pre-exam stuff, like asking me lots of questions and taking my blood pressure. But she said I need to be there early because the doctor expects to see me at 10:00. What? No!

It's my responsibility to get there with enough time to wait in line and check in and fill out paperwork or whatever is happening, and be ready at my appointment time. If they expected me to be called by the nurse at 9:50 so I'd be ready for the doctor at 10:00, then they should have told me my appointment time was 9:50.
