no, this one
Nov. 16th, 2018 09:17 pmI changed my mind. This is the one.

The theme of this show is Blue. Not merely the color blue, but anything you could conceivably relate to that word. I didn't have any images in stock that I could apply to that theme, that weren't merely pictures with a lot of blue in them. I didn't really want to go that route since it didn't seem very original, but besides that, I didn't see any blue images that stood out anyway.
So I was trying to come up with a new angle. First I tried to take something that wasn't ordinarily blue, and make it blue. I tried a tree, but it was so tedious, and it wasn't all that impressive anyway, that I didn't finish it. Another idea I had was to take something that is normally blue, and make it not-blue. But that's tough, since so few things are naturally blue that would never be another color. There's the sky or the ocean, or... ?
So then I remembered the picture of the blue eye. I made the colors dramatic and thought it looked good enough to enter. But then I was playing around with it and come up with the rainbow of colors you see at the top. It looked pretty cool, and I realized it was something that is normally blue (if I labeled it as a blue eye) that was no longer blue. But I was unsure that angle would work for the judges.
Then I came up with the idea of putting the original and the "negative" together. That shows both the blue and the no-longer-blue.
I submitted it tonight (three hours before the deadline), and notifications come out on December 3rd.
