winter is here

Last weekend, the forecast said it would snow Tuesday and Thursday nights. A friend said it wouldn't stick. Nothing happened Tuesday night, but on Friday morning, there was over 1.5" of snow. And it stayed below freezing all day, so not much of it melted. My friend was right, in that the ground was warm, so not much of it stuck to bare ground and pavement. But blades of grass cool off quickly and can hold the snow. Then it snowed again the evening.

Today, the sun is out, so snow is melting, but it's not getting above about 28°.
