the weekend
May. 13th, 2018 10:41 pmSaturday was cold and rainy, but I did some work in the yard. I got the rain barrel partly installed. Damn, I'm out of shape. That mild physical effort wore me out.
Today was nice. Sunnyish and warmer. It was Mother's Day, so we took a brewery tour at Lakefront Brewery with Heather and Greg. It was a lot of fun. Lots of beer, plus a beer/food pairing, which was nice. I think my favorite pairing was 5-year aged cheddar with craisins. Though I did like the East Side Dark paired with maple fudge.
Friends are probably aware that I don't like beer. Or didn't. In the last couple of years I've eased into it. I think I've reached my comfort level with beer - anything with very little hops. I thought I might be getting more used to the bitter stuff, but I'm not sure. Maybe.
After the tour we took a walk around the neighborhood. Cyn swung on the swings under the Holton Stree Viaduct, and we walked the Marsupial Bridge back.
After that we went to my mom's place, but she wasn't home. She was having dinner at my sisters. We left a card, and she called later.
And I finished hooking up the rain barrel.
