weekend update
Nov. 14th, 2017 12:08 amSaturday night, we had some friends over to play Cards Against Humanity. So in the morning and afternoon we were doing a bit of housecleaning. In the meantime I was working on my notes for the Monday night's whisky tasting.
Sunday morning I overslept. Didn't get up until almost 10:00. Went outside before lunchtime to burns some brush and cut and split kindling. I think I have enough for the winter. I got done just in time to shower and take a trip to the grocery store to buy food because... The guys came over for gaming in the evening.
They left kinda early, which gave me time to work on my whisky presentation some more. Since I had overslept in the morning, I didn't go to be until after 1:30. And then my alarm went off five hours later. So I had trouble staying awake at work. I was worried I wouldn't be clearheaded for my presentation, but I guess I did fine.
I had to leave work early to get ready for the tasting. I wear my Prince Charlie outfit, which is the kilted equivalent of a tuxedo. I got dressed around a quick supper. I had trouble buttoning the neck of the shirt. I was pinching my neck! I had to have Cyn do it, and she even had trouble. Once it was buttoned, it was fine. Later, I could get my fingers inside the collar. No idea what that was all about.
So we got set up, the tasting went well. Everybody told us how great it was. We were sold over capacity. We spent over an hour setting up and pouring whisky. Then the presentation was probably two hours. And then you stick around afterwards to answer questions and talk whisky, or just chat with people. I feel like I was on for all of that. I didn't leave there until 11:00, so I'm really tired. But not ready to go to bed. I'll be catching up on sleep for days.
