Cindy and I went to the art museum on Saturday morning, so see the modern art exhibit before it closed the next day. We got there early to beat the inevitable crowds. It was a good exhibit. A little more broad than I expected, but it gave a great overview of the greater modern art movement. Early Picasso, Gaugin, Van Gogh, Kahlo, O'Keeffe, Pollock, Rothko, Stella, Warhol...

Gathered in front of Giacomo Balla's Dynamism of A Dog on a Leash were three teenage girls. They were really excited by the painting. Of course it's kinda cute, but they were talking about it, and what was interesting about it. They were visibly excited by a painting! They got out their notebooks (not phones!) and wrote a few notes, then went back to mark down a few other paintings they'd seen.

The main part of the museum was closed for some major remodeling, so just the changing exhibition space was open. I think they moved one of their regular features to the modern art exhibit. Story time.

I was surprised to see they were allowing photography. They don't usually do that in the special exhibits. I didn't realize it until about halfway through.
