A few weeks ago I went to a trade show. It was pretty big. I walked every aisle in the first hall, fairly quickly. Partway through the second hall I started to tire. Third hall, my feet were hurting. I had misjudged the sensibility of my shoes. Fourth hall I was going pretty slow. I was hurting the next day. And the day after that. Three days later I had a lingering stiffness. Just from a lot of walking.

I started having back issues in late summer. My lower back was hurting. I blamed it on our mattress. Changed to a new mattress and it got worse. I went to have it worked on, and it immediately felt better, but never healed completely. At the same time, my shoulder started bothering me. It started around the time I had my back worked on, and got noticeably worse during that appointment. It became rather painful for a short time, but has now gotten almost completely better.

Cyn has been teaching me yoga. We've done this two or three times, so there's no real benefit yet. I think I'd have to get into it pretty regularly for some time. The first time, she asked, "can you sit cross-legged?" "Yeah... no." I was surprised to learn I couldn't. My left leg won't bend/twist far enough in that direction. I wondered how long it had been like that, but it has since gotten worse, so it probably hasn't been all that long. I can't picture working this one out on my own, so I'll probably have to have it looked at.

This year's been really bad for exercise. I have to get back into that, and do more varied exercises. And speaking of... I've got to go shovel the driveway.
