zero-g photoshoot
Feb. 24th, 2014 10:01 pmI posted this on Facebook, and (predictably) a couple of guys liked it. But I didn't say anything about it, except that it's a behind-the-scenes look at a different kind of shoot. They took a swimsuit model and the photo team in a zero-gravity plane. Not as exciting as one might expect from a swimsuit shoot, but I thought it was pretty cool to see what went on.

The photographer and lighting assistants (who had to hand-hold everything) were floating, right along with the model. So that makes things pretty challenging. There were a few people who were holding on to ropes, and who were often holding the photographer! Or they'd push the model. The model seems to have done a pretty good job at posing in that environment. This video doesn't show it that much, but there's another one at the Sports Illustrated site that does.
