basement again
Dec. 2nd, 2010 12:07 amI spent a couple more hours cleaning the basement. Previously, when cleaning, all the stuff I didn't know what to do with, got pushed to the back of the basement. Either the workroom, or the area at the back of the workroom. That's where I started, this time. So some things are getting pushed towards the middle. But maybe there will be enough new space in the back, that I can make real homes for the stuff.
Now that I got rid of the obvious garbage from that area, I made a second pass, and am seeing things I either didn't see the first time through, or didn't register as garbage. That's part of the problem - I just get used to seeing it, so it doesn't get sorted.
I'm collecting the decent stuff, in hopes that it can go to a good home. It's all hardware kinds of stuff, though, so I'm not sure who'd be interested in it. Cheap stuff, too, so...
Still finding "cool" stuff. I found my mortar tube (as in military hardware). Waterproof, but metal, and heavy. It had maps in it. Another light fixture, too cool to throw away. Antique stuff, kinda cool, but not very cool. A couple of old jacks. A gummed up vent grate. What do I do with this stuff? I guess I'll have to have a poll or something.
