Scotch tasting
Nov. 21st, 2010 12:57 amMy dad and I did another tasting for some friends of mine. Doug, Aaron, Brook and Brandon.
Auchentoshan Classic, which tasted better than I remembered it.
Arran single Cask limited Edition (bott. 31/756, 57.4% alc.)
The Glenlivet 12
The Glenlivet NĂ durra Cask Strength (16 year bottled 11/09, batch no. 11091, 54.2% alc.), which was mellower than I remembered.
The Dalmore 15
Scapa 16
Bruichladdich Cadenhead's Cask Strength 12yr 1991, bott. n/242
My favorite of the night was the Scapa. I was disappointed in my choice of The Dalmore. It wasn't on my dad's list so I took the risk, but he had had it already, and wasn't impressed. It definitely wasn't a favorite of the night. I liked the flavor, but didn't care for the nose. Was happy to discover it goes well with chocolate.
Edit: He hadn't had The Dalmore 15. I took it to him at Thanksgiving for a retaste. He listed it at 325, which was better than I expected.
