Indianapolis
Jan. 16th, 2010 10:03 pmI drove my mom to Indianapolis for the funeral of her nephew. He had alzheimers. Last year they discovered a probable tumor of prostate cancer, and then he had a stroke, and died soon thereafter. He didn't suffer as long as most alzheimers patients.
His wife came up from Phoenix to have a memorial service. Most of his and her family, and their friends are in the midwest between Michigan and Tennessee. So it was 4-1/2 hours in the car. A couple hours at the funeral home. Dinner with a group, then four hours back. It was good to see my cousins, and actually chat with them.
I was fine until I got in the house. I wandered around for a few minutes, then sat down to read the newspaper. It hit me hard - I crashed. I'm dead tired. I had to get up two hours early, and I wasn't feeling well, and that was a lot of driving and activity. I want to go to bed, but Cindy's out with company, and should return shortly. Oh well, I think I'll go to bed anyway.
