The alarm was set for 3:20. I made it to work at 4:00 for the carpool. Made it to the gate with almost half an hour to spare. I bought a National Geographic to read on the planes. After the first flight to Charlotte NC (just under two hours), I had finished all but two articles.

The plane was delayed getting into Charlotte, due to visibility at the airport. The woman sitting next to me was really mad about it, since she missed her flight. When we landed, my boss and I walked off the plane, and went two gates over, where boarding had already started. Ten minutes later, we were aboard. I finished one of the articles in the magazine before we left the gate. I took a fifteen minute nap after we left the gate, and before we took off for Wilmington.

Our meeting went fine, but was shorter than we expected. One of the guys said that since we had three hours to kill, we should go to the beach. We opted to try to catch an earlier flight back. Of the two earlier flights, one was booked up, and one was not. The one that had seats available would have required a $50 fee to switch to. Even if we'd done that, we still would have sat in Charlotte waiting for the same flight to Milwaukee. So we sat in Wilmington for three hours. Meanwhile, the flight ahead of ours had mechanical trouble and was canceled. We were really glad we hadn't rebooked for that one.

The flight out of Wilmington was delayed. When we arrived at Charlotte, we jogged two gates over, and boarded at last call. Arrived in Milwaukee five minutes ahead of the original arrival time.

It's been a long day.
