the shed, part 4
Sep. 21st, 2009 10:38 pmMy helper arrived a little before 6:00, to help with the tar paper. We had trouble with it tearing as we unrolled it, because it was old, and stuck together on the bottom. We ran out of staples and had to run to the store. At this time, my helper got a call from his wife, because he said he'd be home by then. We also got another roll of tar paper. We only needed about three more strips of staples. If I had been doing the stapling, instead of my helper, who apparently likes the sound of the stapler, we wouldn't have run out. And when we ran out of the second roll (which was donated by my helper's mother), we went back to the first, and made it work. So I will return the roll I just bought. The sky was barely light in the west when finished., about 7:30.
I was surprised to see that a couple of sheets of plywood separated and warped in the rain overnight. That doesn't change anything, as far as I'm concerned. It should still hold, and I'm still going to replace the shed.
