We met some friends for dinner at a Middle Eastern place. Afterwards, we went for a walk in search of another place to get a drink. We ended up back at the same place, but we sat outside. It was warm, but not too warm. There was a bit of a breeze, so that was nice. And here at home, it's nice to be able to walk around not-fully-clothed.

I love it when it's like summer on a weekend.

It amazes me that Les Paul was still around and playing, while virtually none of his contemporaries are still around. His first records were released in 1936, and he had hits through the early fifties, but there are so few musicians left from the late-fifties rock and roll era let alone earlier than that. Add to that his innovation and invention, both musical and technical. I didn't know he invented the neck-worn harmonica rig.

Here are two videos of Les Paul and his wife, Mary Ford. The first shows his multi-track recording. The second one showcases Mary Ford.

Cyn and I went to State Fair today. I'm sure I've been there at least once, but I have only vague recollections. This was the first exhibit we saw:

We spent most of our time in the livestock barns.
