Circus Parade
Jul. 12th, 2009 11:55 pmI ran down to the circus parade this afternoon. It was kinda fun. I wasn't sure where I'd park, or whether I'd get a good place to see it from. I had to walk quite a few blocks, but I found a couple of decent places to stand. I didn't get a great set of pictures, mainly because I'm not good at shooting moving targets, but you can at least see what was going on - except that I don't have the pictures done yet. So here's a teaser.

The parade was horse drawn wagons, punctuated by marching bands. Some of the wagons were carriages with local dignitaries, but most were circus wagons. Several bandwagons, a few with wild animals. I saw tigers, a lion, baboons, a giraffe, and snake charmers. I didn't see the elephants marching. They had a wild west, a patriotic, a Ringling Brothers, an international and a children's section. Lots of clowns (including Ernest Borgnine). Lots of horses, both pulling wagons and being ridden.
I had to get home for gaming, so I didn't stay til the end, but that's okay. I was there for over an hour, and I think I only saw about half of it.
