They said we were supposed to have eight to ten inches of snow, or something like that. It was supposed to start around 8:00 last night, and go through 8:00 tonight. At 12:30 this morning, there was barely any snow in the air.

Cyn got me up at 7:00 to help her shovel out of the driveway. It was pretty nasty out there. Much blowing and drifting, and a good six inches on the ground. Finally got her cleared out, and she was off to work. She had no sooner pulled out of the driveway when her company called - they were closing for the day. I ran outside, but she was already down at the corner. I tried calling her at her cellphone, repeatedly, but she didn't hear it until she got stuck and went for the phone. So I got in the Mustang and went after her. Fortunately a plow came up behind her, and helped her out. Too bad she hadn't been behind the plow in the first place. Or better yet, stayed home an extra minute, and still been there when the office called.

We've got a small snowblower, at the moment. My mom gave it to us when she moved out of her old house, because her landlord was taking care of all the snow. She's learned that he's not always home to take care of it when she needs it cleared. She asked for the snowblower back, but hasn't been able to get it yet. The thing's small, and a little underpowered, but it's still a lot less work than shoveling. Probably takes half the time as shoveling. I spent nearly two hours out there today. Fortunately it wasn't very cold. Just windy. And though it seems to have snowed a lot overnight, by morning it had really died down. It kept snowing very lightly all day. We probably got less half an inch throughout the day. It was still doing that around 8:00.

I think I'm going to be happy giving the snowblower back to my mom, though. It's a two cycle, so I stink like burnt oil and gas. And I have a bit of a headache. I wonder if I can get a decent one, with a four cycle engine, that's still small enough to fit in the garage.

Notice the snow is deep than the snow intake area. That's just because the wind caused the snow to fill in the trench where the front walk was. But it took a while to get that little part cleared.

The snow was really bad in the morning. The plows were only starting to do the county roads, when Cyn left for work. Every place was shut down. Cyn's company had never closed for snow before, nor had her former company, which also shut down. But with the light snow in the day time, the roads were pretty well cleared by midday.
