Kitty gets her eye out on monday.
A while back, we noticed that one eye was discolored. Then the pupil seemed to be a bit misshapen, and not open and close right. Then the eye started tearing a lot, and the tears had brown particles in them. Around this time we realized that they eyeball was enlarged. So we took her to the vet. The lens had become detached, and the intraocular pressure was way high (glaucoma). We gave her some medicine for a week, but there was no change.
The options were either to try further medication or have the eye removed. The medication didn't seem like it had very good odds of working, and she already couldn't see much out of the eye, so surgery seems the best option. Not only that, but they can do tests on they eyeball and possibly find out what went wrong, and we might be able to guard against it happening to the other eye.
