it's Christmas
Dec. 18th, 2005 09:55 amOn Christmas morning, Cyn's kids are here, and we open our presents. Then we go to Cyn's mom's, and exchange presents with her family. Then Cyn and I go to my mom's, and have dinner and open presents. My sister's family is there. The big Christmas get-together is with my dad's and stepmom's families. That is, cyn and I, my sister's family and our three stepsibling's families (eleven adults and currently seven kids). It's always a big challenge to schedule this one, with all the different families and different sets of parents. In the last several years, we've taken to meeting on the sunday before Christmas. It's kind of weird this year, since Christmas is on a sunday. It doesn't seem like it ought to be christmas yet.
This year is our turn to host the gathering. We spent all day yesterday cleaning, but we still have a bit left to do. It doesn't seem like we put as much into this one as a our last party, at Thanksgiving, even though this one is a bigger deal. I guess opening presents provides the entertainment for the evening.
It should be fun.
