nice day to be home

Too bad I wasn't home more. I got off work early, since I worked some overtime during the week. The weather is nice - upper sixties, breezy and sunny. I hadn't been able to enjoy the sun all week. It's low enough to be coming in the windows again.

I thought I'd have time to start packing for the trip, but I had to do some paperwork for insurance enrollment. I'm still an hour ahead, though. I think I'll run down to the store and pick up my speakers.

going west

We leave tomorrow morning for California. After we arrive in L.A., we'll spend the day with Marswalker, seeing Mt. Wilson Observatory and do some hiking, and who knows what else. On Sunday, Whathisname will show us around Hollywood and wherenot. On Monday, we'll pick up Shoo and drive to San Diego to visit her mother. On Tuesday, we take Shoo to Tucson to visit i. We'll spend the rest of the week there, probably doing some hiking. We're coming back next Saturday.

I've been to Minneapolis a few times in the last few years, but aside from that, the last time I was west of the Mississippi was in 1985. I went with my dad and stepmom on a trip to Colorado. We saw a lot of states on that trip. Before that, it was 1976, when we drove to New Mexico. And this will be the third time I've taken a trip by air.
