Have you heard about the plot to kill cats, and the uproar about it?

I've just got this to say about it:
No one who is worried about the songbirds that the cats kill, is going to advocate the killing of cats. That's a red herring.
If anyone noticed the cats' prey, they'd notice the rodents that the cats kill, and the motion would die a quick death.
People shoot cats anyway, and nobody seems to notice. Why make this all public? Just so the DNR can make money from licenses? Who's going to get a license? And what DNR official is going to start looking for poachers?
