as always, it comes down to expectations
Mar. 23rd, 2005 12:23 amI figured out why this winter is going on so long. It's because I want it to end. Every year, I pray for snow, and I look out with disappointment every January, when the snow melts. I keep up my positive thinking until the daffodils are coming up, and finally give in to spring. My wishes are thwarted.
This year? I was torn between wanting more snow, and wanting it to warm up so I could get some extra work done at the duplex. So it would snow, and then melt. Snow and melt. And more recently, when I'm bearing down on the deadline, and I need it to warm up, winter won't go away. I need to get a car into the back driveway of the duplex, and it's all snow.
Every year, exactly the opposite of what I want.
