windows

My dad and I got the windows in today. That's a relief. It is also a relief that we figured it out well enough, and that I measured correctly and got the right size windows.

The first one took two hours. Then the next pair in an hour and a half, and the next pair in an hour. Then the window in the back of the house was different, and it took a bit to figure out. We had to take out the whole window frame, rather than just the trim pieces and sashes like we did on the first few. My dad was dubious, but it worked. Then the last window was a sideways sliding one with two sashes. It was also a trick to get the old one out, and even trickier to figure out how the new one worked and how it was supposed to go in. I'm not thrilled about the window manufacturer. They were okay, but not great.

There's one more window to go in, but we ran ouitof time today and there's no deadline for this one. I needed to get these others in before the drywaller comes. Now I'm just about ready for the electrician. I need to build a wall. He should be done in a couple of weeks. I haven't heard from the drywaller yet. He said he was working at about three to four weeks out. I hope it's three. I need to get this finished as soon as possible, so I can get some income from it.
