I've gotten a few new CD's in the last few months.
Recently, someone (who shall remain nameless in case the FBI starts looking for him) sent me all four Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros records. Good stuff. Especially the last one, Streetcore.
Antoher LJer gave me Fountains of Wayne's latest for Christmas. Nothing spectacular, but I like it. A happy power-poppy thing.
I got David Bowie's last two records. Heathen was a bit downbeat. I like it. His latest, Reality, I like more. It reminds me of his early work - it has a classic feel.
The Man on the Burning Tightrope, by Firewater, is interesting as well. "Anything at All" is one of those songs that I kept on "repeat." Awesome. The rest has a carnival feel. Different, and I like it too.
The Fire Theft is made up of three of the founding memebers of Sunny Day Real Estate. Two songs are songs I listened to repeatedly for a week or so. The rest of the songs are nice.
Zoar is a very dark band. Two guys - guitar and synthesizer. In the Bloodlit Dark is my favorite. It's all instrumental. Their second, Clouds Without Water is a little more eclectic, as it has vocals by a few guest artists.
And I still really like The White Stripes' Elephant.
