I feel like crap again

I feel like I did right after I went back to work after being sick, the week before last.

Yesterday was moving day for Heather, her boyfriend Sebastian and her friend Emily. I didn't drink enough water. I was going back and forth between arctic-blast air conditioning and sweating my ass off in the heat . My allergies are hanging around. I just finished my prescription of antibiotics for the strep or whateveritwas. I was beat by the end of the day. It wasn't that I was hurting - no back or muscle trouble - I was just fried. You know, one of those nights where you just want to sit and stare?

Then today I overslept. Not late enough to get any appreciable sleep. Just enough to be late for work. And not have time to read LJ. Maybe I can get caught up at lunch time.

funeral

My mom's sister in law, Emily, was diagnosed with cancer in March. She had some spots on her lungs. Mom spoke with her less than a month ago. she said she seemed to be doing pretty well. She said she felt better after she started chemo. When they talked, Emily had to give the phone to her husband because she had a coughing fit. She said, "I don't know why I'm coughing so bad." That was the last that my mom heard from her. She died on Friday.

Uncle Gene called my mom on friday or saturday to tell her the news. He said there'd be one funeral in Michigan early in the week and one in Tennessee later in the week. She left messages with him on Sunday asking for details, but he never called. Nor did he call their other brother, or any other family that she knew to ask.

A friend did an internet search for the funeral and determined that it was going on at that time. Rather disappointing because not only didn't he tell any of them, but Michigan is closer to home than Tennessee.

Now I have to drive my mom down there. It's an eleven hour drive (at least). We're going to leave after work on wednesday and drive until midnight. The leave early in the morning to make it there by noon. That night we'll stay with my cousin near Nashville. Not my favorite arrangement, but it will be okay. Then on friday, we'll drive straight home. Yippee.

I don't think I'll be online much this week. I've already not been keeping up.
