I went to our council encampment. We have one every five years. This is my fifth, I believe. It was held on the grounds of the Expreminental Aircraft Association in Oshkosh. (You may be aware of the EAA Fly-in, that creates the worlds busiest airport for a week.) There were over five thousand campers there and at least that many day visitors. We had only three boys along. There were all kinds of activities and challenges for the kids. It was pretty cold on friday night (there was a little frost on the ground int he morning), but it was pretty nice on saturday, and still warm last night. It didn't start raining until bedtime. Dan's sleeping back got wet, so he was up at 5:30. Fortunately, he didn't start breakfast until 6:00. There were still some sausages that were warm when I got up. >:-( At least were were out of there early. Our troop has always been really slow getting up and going, and out of camp on sundays, so this was a nice change. We were packed up and on the road by 8:40. So I got home earlier than usual.

When Charles Lindberg was born, there were no airplanes. When he was 25 he flew a plane across the Atlantic ocean.
