Our scout troop always does some kind of winter camping trip. This year we wanted to go all out and build some snow shelters, instead of staying in a cabin. The last few years we didn't have any snow by February, so I got them to agree to have the outing in January. We still didn't have any snow. The temperature was well into the fifties. Our tents were probably colder inside than snow shelters would have been, but roomier.

I originally wanted to cancel if we didn't have any snow, but we felt an obligation to the boys to have some sort of outing, so we went up anyway. We did stop on the way up to bowl a couple of games, and eat some pizza.

I guess I would have preferred to have stayed home, since I had so much to take care of, but it was a nice trip. Saturday and Sunday were both fine examples of a beautiful spring day. There was little snow around so we couldn't ski, but the lake still had ice (nobody had skates, though). We could hear the cracking reverberating through the ice. We went for a nice walk out there, and then a hike through the woods. Mark and I went for a walk around the camp in the evening. The moon was just awesome. We found some turket tracks. Those things are just huge.

I got home early yesterday afternoon. Then Cyn came up and we spent the evening together.

If you were driving your car at the speed of light, and you turned your headlights on, would the light pool up inside the housing?
