Yes, they didn't want to give their son a mobile device. And he'd come home before they did from work. So he could call them saying he reached. :)
The rotary phone needed an adapter to connect but it works. D calls from it when we used to visit. They find it fun!
But it doesn't have caller ID showing up so they never pick up the phone.
