My first impulse was to nail full sheets down over the existing stuff. that has the benefit of not having to tear off the old stuff. But it had the disadvantage of needing someone's truck, and their help hoisting them up there. Not to mention the expense. And when it comes down to it, I'm not sure how much less cutting and fitting there would have been. :-)
But generally, yeah, I prefer rebuilding from scratch to repairing what's there.
The kicker is that I want to tear this shed down and build a new one, sometime in the next five to ten years. I really didn't want to spend the time fixing it, but it was rotting away.
