The first subsection of it in our Crimes Act 1961 used to read:
S59. Domestic discipline -- (1) Every parent [of a child and, subject to subsection (3) of this section, every person in the place of the parent of a child is justified in using force by way of correction towards the child], if the force used is reasonable in the circumstances.
It didn't actually end up getting repealed entirely, but it was amended in such a way so that those parents who were escaping prosecution for severely beating their children because their use of force was 'by way of correction', should longer be able to do so.
- oh, and I forgot the first time: fully adopt the damn metric system! :)
