still talking about the weather

This is Wisconsin. Mid-January. Forty degrees and pouring rain. Thunderstorm, actually. This is fucked up.

So is the basement at the duplex. I didn't expect water to come in, because it's not supposed to be spring. My bad, but I guess nothing very important was damaged.

Tomorrow night, the temperature is supposed to drop by about thirty degrees. That's closer to normal for this time or year, but it is not welcome due to the flooding today. (Heavy rain plus melting snow on recently frozen ground.)

I'm glad the truck's at the truck doctor, otherwise we'd have to bring her home to plug in the block heater and the driveway's too steep even in the best of weather. I'd hate to see what happens on top of ice.

We've done sand/salt mixtures and it still a tough go. This is a really really steep driveway.
