Doh' was it a really bad one ? I always get the pop ups when I'm searching for something for mum and she is right behind me...like 'See girls live for free' and as fast as I get rid of them I get more and more, and the little X don't make them go away, just makes them bigger..Grrrrr
• contains no spyware • uses very few system resources • is a free download • prevents malicious html and javascript from popping up windows once a native browser window is already open • allows you to open new windows with CTRL+N or SHIFT+left click on a hyperlink
Another possiblity is to use the Windows key (the one with the flag-like logo), if you have one. Windows+M minimises everything, or Windows+D shows you desktop, which is only rather subtly different. The down side is that it now looks as if you're not doing anything on the computer at all...

Get their Pop-up Stopper. It:
• contains no spyware
• uses very few system resources
• is a free download
• prevents malicious html and javascript from popping up windows once a native browser window is already open
• allows you to open new windows with CTRL+N or SHIFT+left click on a hyperlink
I haven't had popup problems in a long time.
