prevention

Our nation's leaders seem to be more intent on protecting their citizens than they are on obtaining world peace. I'm not talking about sending out armies to keep other nations from destroying each other. What is important is to not antagonize other nations. Like this thing about "mentioning" a few other countries that we happen to be aiming missiles at. They already know we are wary of them, but we shouldn't be saying things that will piss them off. There's a balance out there that our leaders have proven is too delicate for them to handle. And why should we care about this balance? The more we piss them off, the more the more we are in need of protection. Isn't prevention the better policy?

It's like cutting funding for schools so we can build more prisons.

Well said. Why is it that diplomacy is damn hard for the American government to get a handle on? The most honest and diplomatic presidents this country has ever had are now regarded as weaklings, humiliations. It is disappointing and dangerous.

Reminds me of:

Bugs Bunny: "Speak softly and carry a big stick."

Yosemite Sam: "Well I talk LOUD! And carry a BIGGER stick!" *WHAM WHAM WHAM*

Every time I hear the news I whimper a little. We're getting ourselves into really serious damn trouble as a country.

I agree with everything you said here. The administration of this country is just scary at this point.
