stupid kids

Last night, Paul told us that his little sister had been busted for having a party while her parents were gone. Four bottles of her parents liquor, a bunch of beer. Damage to the liquor cabinet.

Her dad got a list of everyone who was there and called them and their parents.

Her mom took away her car. The one she had saved up all that money for, and was going to be learning to drive on next month when she turned sixteen.

Yeah, she's only fifteen.

I thought the whole thing was pretty damn funny, until that last part. Now it's just stupid.

I remember some underage kids from my high school had a couple of impromtu parties...the first one ended up with someone playing Russian-Roulette with a loaded gun and accidentally shooting themselves. Another party had someone passed out on the floor...and some idiot thought it would be funny to wrap an old lamp-cord around his leg and plug it into the wall to "wake him up" He was dead for 45 minutes before anyone at the party noticed...

Same batch of kids, too. Underage drinking can *kill* in so many stupid ways...

(The kicker was it used to be and probably still is a fairly strict hard-core Christian town...I was harassed by Fundamentalist kids most of the time I went to school there.)
