old pictures

Here are a couple of pictures from early 1998.

Me, of course, with hair.

I guess I do one of these every ten years. It was a dragon last time.

Sir, you are the master of snow sculpture! How cool!

Please make them more often?

Thanks! I plan on it, but we'll see what happens.

I remember your long hair, albeit I only knew you for...what, nine years? Has it been nine years? Great googaly moogaly!!!

I think you should do a sculpture every year! I will if you will!

Ms. Maus,

if I lived in a snowy part of the country I'd suggest we team up and peer-pressure him into joining our LJ "Snow Sculpture" photo group...

but since I live in the desert and even sand sculptures are short lived, I'll just stand back and agree - you guys should do that EVERY winter! :)

I will if you will!

YAY! I can see the pictures now.. been having internets problems lately. Anyway, I have to third the suggestion that you make this a yearly thing.. or more often than once a decade. They are really cool!

[identity profile] low-delta.livejournal.com 2008-04-20 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
I plan on it, but it will depend on the snow.

I understand. They used to have an ice sculpture contest every year at the Uni of Alaska, and of course they would last until the thaw, but they waited until the snow started falling with moisture in it.. most snow falls freeze dried up there.. like sand.

Let me just say that I am VERY impressed with your snow sculptures, and I hope you do them annually from here on out, and post tons of pictures. Please?

[identity profile] low-delta.livejournal.com 2008-04-20 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you. I have an idea for the next one, but they always depend on having good snow. We'll see how next winter turns out. I'll certainly post pictures. If Cyn had her way, she'd post a picture from about every ten minutes of the sculpting process. That's why I did the lion after she went to bed. :-)

ROTFL!! So I'm obsessive-compulsive with the camera, am I?

He's chillin. I love his crocodilian grin!

Thanks!

That's a great dragon. I agree that you need to make them more often than once/decade. Whose house is that? Looks very nice.

Thanks. That was the apartment building I lived in before I bought the duplex. I did this in the last winter I was there.

[identity profile] marswalker.livejournal.com 2008-04-19 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
You realize now we're not going to stop bugging you to do this every winter?!

[identity profile] low-delta.livejournal.com 2008-04-20 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Feel free!

[identity profile] opalescence.livejournal.com 2008-04-19 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Well done! I liked your lion this past year, too.

Thank you!

Cool.

I was talking to a man who last saw me in 1997 and he asked, "So, do you look the same?" And I thought, 'gads! I hope not. Time does do it's thing, ya know? I'm sure HE doesn't look the same and he wasn't so hot to begin with. I was. *wink* But he was not. POINT IS you look different. Not better or wore, just different. I do, too.
*mwa*
