I saw that conversation and almost commented on it. They are dead of winter crops here as well. Spinach, onions and most lettuces are as well.

I am not sure why no one grows fall tomatoes here, and it may have something to do with the bugs or diseases. They are certainly running through my tomatoes right now. I have three more hillbilly potato leaf that I havn't stuck in the ground yet that are hardening off.. but I think I will try to grow all the varieties this fall, start them at the end of this month, that will give them a three month seedling time, then put them out in September. I don't know if it is too chilly at night then, it CAN drop down to fifty if we get a cool spell (we actually pray for those) at that time. I bet that sounds funny to you.
