Has anyone seen the comet? This site shows it is right alongside Cassiopeia, but I saw that constellation on Saturday night, and I couldn't see a comet. And that was out in the country, where we could see all kinds of stars. I guess the tail isn't very bright, and I thought the head was a star. I thought it would be easy to see, since I fist saw Hale-Bopp in my peripheral vision.

The core is pretty average magnitude, and the tail would be even less so... it would be easy for you to miss the tail, I think. I've tried to find it before with no luck, but the western sky near me is pretty well light-polluted. If you have a pair of binoculars you might try that.

Hale-Bopp was very pretty. I think it's spoiled me for comets.

Try barefoot in pyjamas.

More seriously, that site says look in the morning, before dawn. What time did you look?

comet viewing will be difficult for me, as the daylight hours are getting quite long......

I love comets...as long as they're not the Lucifer's Hammer variety.
