Debra

All the kids were out on the dance floor. A slow song came on, so most of them started wandering off, leaving Mike and Jill. It was Beck's "Debra". By the time the lyrics started all the groomspeople had joined them, and they all serenaded Jill. The best man, Aaron, had heard the song start and quickly suggested that Greg, Heather and Brad to go out with him. It was quite a show. Not sure if any video will ever surface. You'll have to picture it.

(Oh yeah, come on)
I met you at JC Penny
I think your nametag said Jenny
I could step to you
With a fresh pack of gum
If somehow I knew you were looking for some
(oh no!)...

the farthest reaches

Mike and Jill are in New Zealand for their honeymoon. I've never been to the southern hemisphere. The farthest south I've been is Hawaii. The farthest west I've ever been was also Hawaii. That's about a time zone away from the International Date Line. The farthest east I've ever gone was Heathrow, which is a few miles from the Prime Meridian. So I've never been to the eastern hemisphere.

This weekend's wedding on Long Island was the farthest east I've been in North America. Farthest south on the continent was Tampa, and the farthest west was Muir Woods/Mt. Tamalpais north of San Francisco Bay.
