it's finally summer
It's been a pleasant summer, weather-wise, but I'd been waiting for it to get hot. There was an article in the paper today saying that the official temperature in Milwaukee hasn't hit 90° yet. According to a nearby weather station, our neighborhood has hit 90 twice, and twice more above that, with a high of 96°. We've had our air conditioning on a few times, but never for very long. This week has been warm, finally. It's nice to be able to walk around the house in next to nothing. And I like going outside to bake in the sun a little.
I took the day off, and I want to use up my vacation while it's nice. I didn't get as much done as I had wanted (no surprise there), but it was nice. I worked outside a little, and cleaned the bathroom. We had storm come through. It rained hard for a few minutes, and the temperature dropped about fifteen degrees. It's still nice, though, and I turned the A/C off.
I had a lovely dinner of bratwurst and margaritas planned, but Cyn was to pick up the boy at the bus station, on his return from Europe, and his bus was over an hour late. Sounds like he's in good shape, though.
