finally

caught up after an hour and a half and 110 entries.

I went to scout leader training on friday night. It's normally about forty five minute drive. It took over an hour, due to the ice storm. My windshield wipers weren't working right, so I had only a small part of the windshield to look through. I had to stop periodically to break the ice off the wipers and try to bend them so they contacted the glass. And the destination was at the end of a narrow drive with a drop-off on one side, and a river at the bottom of a hill, so I wan't sure I'd make it there in one piece. But I did.

I got home yesterday afternoon. Cyn and I went out to eat at Ferrante's, where I wasn't too impressed. Then I spent some time on scout stuff, and then we went to bed early. You know, becasue of the time change.

John Kerry

"As we learned the hard way after Vietnam, our duty to our troops doesn't end when the battle is won. Those that put their lives on the line have earned a lifetime of support. And America must live up to that commitment.

Yet, two months ago, this administration announced it would suspend enrollment in the healthcare system of at least 160,000 qualified veterans. And now they want to deny another 230,000 veterans the healthcare they deserve.

And many of the vets already in the system are doing little better. More than 200,000 veterans are waiting six months or more for their first doctor's visit. We need to do much more to deal with this backlog and get the veterans healthcare system ready for the hundreds of thousands of vets who will be returning from Iraq. Yet, this administration says we cannot afford healthcare for veterans because they prefer a massive tax cut that harms economic growth and gives the greatest benefit to those with the least need. "

antisocial?

I notice LiveJournal has been very quiet lately.

I suppose there are a lot of reasons for that. It is spring. People are tired of hearing about the war online. People are tired of hearing people talking about the war and politics.

I wonder if people are staying away from my journal, in particular. I'm sure some of them are avoiding me because of my politics, and I can understand that, but I wonder if some people don't talk to me as much, because I don't talk to them as much. Sometimes I'll get a lot of comments to a post, and I don't respond to any of them. I want you all to know that I do appreciate all of your comments.

There are many reasons why I might not say anything. Sometimes I just don't know what to say. Sometimes I simply agree, and there's nothing to say. Sometimes it seems like a waste to comment with "yeah," or "LOL!" I know it isn't a waste, but I still can't get myself to make such comments.

Please tell yourself that I have read your comments, that I do appreciate them, and that I do find them funny (when appropriate ;-) ).
