separation of church and state
Okay, here's what I was getting at.
A while back, I heard that the ACLU was going to fight to make the governement refuse to let religious organizations from meeting in government facilities. They pleaded "separation of church and state." This was just dumb. Religious groups are community groups just like non-religious ones, and therefore should have the same rights as others to use community facilities. You don't agree? Let me put it this way: I think if my city refused to let my Boy Scout troop to meet in our school, it is guilty of make a law respecting a religious group.
Okay, this doesn't really apply to the charity funding thing, because ethe gov't funds won't go to non-religious groups, but it brought this to mind, and I wanted to say it. And we should be careful, and not blindly try to shut religion down. Free expression of religion is part of what made this country.
