color!

I went to a color run today. Not as a participant, but a spectator. This month's organizer of our monthly photowalk decided to hold it at the color run. This is where you sign up to run a 5K for charity, and they toss dye on you. A take-off of the Indian Holi thing. The run where everybody has fun.

1
This is the starting line. They started people off in groups of what looked like several hundred, every five minutes. Not sure how long it took everyone to go through. An hour? There were lots of people.

2
To get everybody excited and in the mood to have fun at the starting gate, they had a DJ on a stage, and people had modified leaf blowers that they used to blow dye on the crowd.

And then they had color stations every so often. The "applicators" would fill their bottles and squirt them on the runners. I hung out at the purple station for a bit. Then moved over to the pink station.

5

6
These kids were probably having more fun than the runners.

8
Reloading.

I think the plastic sheeting was to keep dye off the ground, but every so often a group would come through and roll in the spilled dye.

At the stage at the finish.

I got some on me too!

My oldest daughter & her husband went to one in MN a few months ago as participants & loved it! They were all full of color when they were done.

How funny! Is that color stuff safe for lungs? I love the stage picture.

Sweet series, I love your shoes at the end. I've been tempted to try one of those, they seem like so much fun.

I've never seen anything like that! Those clouds of colour make great pictures. Fun!

What is the color made of?
The magical color powder we use is custom manufactured and produced right here in the United States. It is made from food grade quality cornstarch using an advanced manufacturing process that has been custom developed for the Color Vibe Race Series. It is non-toxic, is 100% safe, and also biodegradable. As with any substance, you will want to keep it out of your eyes and lungs

It looks like it was really fun! I'd love to be a sprayer.

I really like #1. The woman on the left really animated the shot.
